How to offer 1st Rakah

  • Make the Niyyah by saying, (I intend to complete the 3 rakats of the Salat Al Witr,) in the first rakat.

  • Now take a sit-up in the jalsa position from the first Sajdah  
  • Enter the second Sajdah now and recite (Subahaana Rabbiyal Aala).

2nd rakah 

  • As you stand to enter the subsequent raka’at, you recite (Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-raheem).
  • Saying Surah Al-Fatiha in prayer
  • A different chapter of the Quran.
  • Put yourself in the Ruku stance and say, (Subahaana Rabbiyal Azeem).
  • When you say (Sami Allahu liman Hamidah), stand up straight and recite (Rabbana lakal Hamd) quietly.
  • Enter the first Sajdah and recite the verse, (Subhaana Rabbiyal A’la).
  • Now take a sit-up in the jalsa position from the first Sajdah.
  • Enter the second Sajdah now and recite (Subahaana Rabbiyal Aa’la).
  • You then take the Tashshahud: You only recite At-tahiyyat.

3rd Rakah

  • (Bismillah-ir-Rahman-ir-raheem), you say.
  • Recite Surah Al Fatiha 
  • A different chapter of the Quran.
  • You say (Allahu Akbar) once again.
  • Reciting the Quran.
  • Put your hands in Ruku, and then chant (Subahaana Rabbiyal Azeem).
  • Upon entering the first Sajdah, we recite (Subhaana Rabbiyal A’la).
  • Go into the second sajdah and say (Subahaana Rabbiyal Aa’la) after rising from the first sajdah in the jalsa posture (between the two sajdahs).
  • You then sit for the whole Tashshahud: You recite (Rabbana, At-Tahiyyat, Allah-umma Barik), and (Allah-umma Salli).
  • By first saying (Assalamu alaikum wa Rahmatullah) to your face to the right. Then saying the same to his face to the left.
